I can't wait...

Even when...

In Other Words:
"I admit how broken I am in body and spirit,
 but God is my strength,
and He will be mine forever."

I'm so thankful He is!

(Because some days I feel like such a failure, I wonder why He puts up with me! Then He reminds me...)

Just get along!

In Other Words:
"And now this word to all of you:
You should be like one big happy family,
full of sympathy toward each other,
loving one another with tender hearts and humble minds."
~ The Living Bible

Remembering...

Werner was here, on vacation. Just about every year he would call or I would call and we would reminisce. I miss talking to him - about that and everything else...

Image made by drones a couple of days ago - incredible!

And remembering Alan Jackson's 9/11 tribute song--"Where were you when the world stopped turning that Septembe Day" - Click here if you never heard it before. .

Trying to leave the dentist's parking lot...

...I faced a bit of a delay...

There were quite a few "stragglers"...

Sunset sky

Not much to see at first, just a "normal" sunset... then clouds staring changing in an intriguing fashion.

Some basics of life

In Other Words:
"Base your happiness on your hope in Christ.
When trials come endure them patiently,
steadfastly maintaining the habit of prayer."

Forever!!

In Other Words:
"Give praise and thanks to the Lord of hosts,
 for the Lord is good;
for His mercy and kindness and steadfast love
 endure forever!"
~ Amplified Bible

In His presence

In Other Words:
"The promise of “arrival” and “rest” is still there for God’s people.
 God himself is at rest.
And at the end of the journey we’ll surely rest with God.
So let’s keep at it and eventually arrive at the place of rest,
not drop out through some sort of disobedience."
~ The Message

Thirsty...?

...for joy? peace? fulfillment? purpose?

It's all found in Him.

The Cheerful Ladies meet the Merchant of Venice

Can't say that I was particularly excited about another Shakespeare play - he remains my final English language challenge, with that "old English" spelling! The only way I can grasp it is to read the words out loud when I read one of his works - which I only do when it comes up in our reading list. But this time I found the full play on YouTube acted out - with subtitles! So I had a combined hearing-and-spelling deal, which made it a lot easier.

As always, the spread was varied and delicious!

Kristi was our hostess this time; I loved the names she gave to the teas - very appropriate for a "classic literature" discussion group.

After we enjoyed the teas and treats and before we started discussing the book, some of the members acted out part of the play - with costumes! Here they are preparing for it.

Kristi's daughter (in the blue cape) joined the fun.

I wish I had audio with this - each lady voiced her character with proper British pronounciation and emphasis.

Great job, ladies!

This group has been meeting faithfully for 25 years! We lost a few members but gained many as well, and we're preparing to vote for the book list for the next couple of years (we meet on the first Saturday of every other month).

A refuge and a stronghold

They are...what?

"Faerie mushrooms", Carol said. She called me to come look at them, at the home across the street. She said they show up in a circle; in the neighbor's case, part of them probably hidden under the sidewalk.

These were on the other side of the sidewalk - probably representing the far edge!

Restful Contentment

In Other Words:
“The fear of the Lord leads to life;
 then one rests content
He will not be disturbed by trouble."
